RCI Pastors

Revival Centre pastors are appointed from within the ranks of the church. As a requirement arises, men who fulfil the scriptural qualifications are appointed to undertake this role.

As a registered denomination in several countries, the Revival Centres International also provides legal accreditation to its pastors so that they may conduct weddings and administer other legal requirements. This accreditation is given from our headquarters in Melbourne.

Pastors may have sole responsibility for a particular assembly, or in larger assemblies may assist a senior pastor.

Houseleaders

In most assemblies, the pastor is assisted by houseleaders that run small-scale house meetings in private homes during the week.

  Shepherds

The word 'pastor' means shepherd. Shepherds in Bible days were not the 'drovers' we see in larger scale farming techniques of today. The shepherd in those days lived in close relation with his flock, putting them first.

The best example of this is that of Jesus Himself. He is called in the Bible "that great shepherd of the sheep". He also said of Himself: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep".

From the Bible...

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians 4:11-12

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
1 Timothy 3:1-7

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Titus 1:7-9
