A NEW LIFE
Before receiving the Holy Spirit, my life was going nowhere due to excessive
drinking and fighting. My mother and brother came home from a Revival
Centre meeting and told me about the experience they had with the Lord.
They had received the Holy Spirit and spoken in tongues. I was ignorant
of all these things and so called them liars. Finally I was persuaded
to go to a church meeting and when the pastor read from the Bible, I felt
that what he was saying was right because all the questions I was going
to ask were answered before I had a chance to ask them! A few weeks later
I prayed to the Lord and He filled me with his Spirit. I was baptised
by full immersion as the Bible commanded me to be. Since then I have had
several miraculous healings. I now have peace and joy in my heart. I can't
praise the Lord enough for the new life He has given me. I thank the Lord
for choosing me out of the world.
I was brought up attending the Revival Centre by my parents. At the age of 9, at a church Christmas camp, I prayed to receive the Holy Spirit just as my parents had. As I was praying, I began to speak in tongues which the Bible tells us is the sign of receiving God's Spirit. This experience gave confidence to my young life and I knew that if I put my trust in the Lord and obeyed His word, my life would be blessed. It was fantastic to have a direction and purpose to life during my teenage / school years and into married life. I now have two children who have also received God's spirit. It gives me great peace and joy to know that in this uncertain, ever-changing world our futures are secure in Him. Whatever our needs - big or small - He always hears us and answers. Life is so good.
My parents started attending the Revival Centre before I was born, so I was brought up in the ways of the Lord. At a young age I sought the Lord to receive the Holy Spirit, and I knew that I had when I spoke in a new tongue. I can praise the Lord for so many things in my life that it is a miracle that I am still here! Our family has been involved in three major car accidents in which we all could have been killed. We have the newspaper clippings with the police reports saying that they expected deaths. I had a pot of boiling water spilled on me when I was little and after prayer there were no burns. I had a dirt bike accident where I broke three vertebrae in my spine. The doctors said that I should have died or been paralysed but I was up and walking in three days. So many things have happened that without the Lord's protection, things could have been very different! I've done a bit of travelling in the past few years and it is good to know that I can go to any Revival Centre meeting anywhere and hear the same true message. I've met a lot of people in this world who have no idea what they are doing with their life and no idea why they are even here. It is good to know that I can answer those questions and that I have proof to back it up.
