Convention - Miracles

RCI International Convention was held in Melbourne during 7 to 9 June. The theme was "Miracles" - and talks were given on this great Bible subject. Lots of fellowship, and lots of news from around the world.

African Adventure
Sat, 31 May 2008 from Melbourne

Pastors Simon and Vic are presently in transit from their trip to Malawi.

Visits to a number of Malawian assemblies and to the Mulanje border assembly in Mozambique were very rewarding.

The visit to Mulanje included meetings with local government officials where the charter of the Revival Centres was seen as a great benefit to the people of their country.

Three major pastors conferences were held with over one hundred Pastors from the various regions - some representatives had journeyed for days to participate. These included Pastors Jeremiah (Kenya) and Paul (newly established RCI – Liberia), and Moses (who plans to establish an assembly in the Congo). Contacts are also being made in Tanzania.

The maize mill project in Lilongwe (Malawi) was visited and it is proving to be a real credit to the Revival Centres – another similar project is being established in Blantyre.

The trip concluded with a quick visit to see Pastors Pino and Helmet in Italy where the Gospel continues to be faithfully preached.

The future in RCI – Africa is very exciting!

Wedding in Mount Hagen
Sat, 31 May 2008 from Brisbane

I am delighted to express the first wedding ceremony conducted in the Highland Zone, Papua New Guinea. Pastor Smith Tapp married Sister Ruth Andrew on Sunday 13th April 2008.

It was a combined fellowship held in Kauil (near Mount Hagen) hosted by the saints from the Highland and Lae Zones, approximately 200 Spirit-filled saints attended the wedding.

Pastor Titus Mollo (Lae) also spoke at the wedding to bring a powerful salvation message to bring the wedding service message of honour into how all must honour God. Seven people were baptised after the wedding in the local Bongol Creek Pool. All received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Pastor Simon Wahl thanks all who came to his village and made this a successful day for Smith and Ruth as they are now married.

Brisbane goes to the Gold Coast
Sun, 25 May 2008 from Brisbane

Brisbane and the Gold Coast are close in distance and this past weekend they were even closer as Brisbane travelled the M1 to have fellowship with the Saints on the Gold Coast.

Saturday night was a trivia and entertainment night, with the Gold Coast providing the "trivia" and Brisbane providing the entertainment. A great night of fellowship.

Sunday was our communion meeting with a fellowship lunch afterwards. Pastor Stephen spoke on the Knowledge of God; with all of us coming away wiser from the Word of God.

Change Your World - Queensland Rally Weekend
Thu, 15 May 2008 from Townsville

Townsville played host to the Queensland Rally on May 3-4 at the Riverway Arts Centre.  The weekend provided many opportunities to share with people the gospel and the truth that God can “Change Your World”.

On Saturday, Pastor Victor Samoilenko introduced Moss Murray who presented informative and entertaining talks on “Global Warming” as well as outlining God’s wondrous creation in his second talk entitled “Breathing”.   Pastor John Andrews spoke Sunday morning on the Rally theme and the afternoon saw Pastors Geoff Hulme, Brendan Backx and Martin Pree provide encouragement to all those gathered, to contend for the faith.

As well as the talks over the Rally weekend there were many items and testimonies, all of which were captured on video and can be viewed by going to the Queensland Rally page.

Townsville Outreach creates interest in Queensland Rally
Sun, 27 Apr 2008 from Townsville

Townsville band '4theos' created interest on Saturday by playing a selection of music whilst folks handed out personal invitations for the up coming Queensland Rally being held May 3-4 at Riverway.

It was the band's first public performance and they generated plenty of interest from visitors to the Riverway Centre.  Next weekend sees '4theos' as well as the Mackay band, 'To that Effect' provide the prelude to a full weekend of Rally activities including presentations by Moss Murray and Pastor John Andrews with visitors attending from Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Mackay assemblies.

Whale's-tooth confirms Fiji Gift
Sun, 06 Apr 2008 from Melbourne

Pastor Simon Longfield, some of his family members, and a number of visitors from North Island New Zealand, were able to make the Fijian Easter camp this year.

Before the camp began, local "tribes-folk" were in attendance at the official "land transfer" ceremony that preceded the opening of the RCI Sigatoka hall on the outskirts of Sigatoka. This turned into a great outreach!

Steeped in local custom, fifteen acres of land were "gifted" to Pastor Apenisa and the local RCI Centre. The ceremony included a guard of honour, the passing of the whales-tooth, and speeches that portrayed the significance of such an event. Then the hall was opened with the traditional cutting of the ribbon.

The camp included a great time of fellowship, dining, singing, ministry, and of course plenty of time to relax... after all this is Fiji!

Tropical sunny days, warm waters, balmy nights, delightful fellowship, and a good number of baptisms (at least a dozen), made for a truly wonderful visit.

Let's keep our Fijian buddies in our prayers. Bula! from Pastor Simon

Hi from NZ
Sat, 05 Apr 2008 from Blenheim

Hi all. Welcome to Kim who was baptised in February by full immersion in (almost warm) water. Kim received the Holy Spirit a few weeks later, with of course the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues. She's loving being part of God's truth.

Here's also a recent photo of the other Blenheim saints, with Marilyn visiting from the Rotorua assembly.

We've just come back from a refreshing time of fellowship at the South Island RCI Easter camp, held this year in Queenstown. Saints came from Dunedin, Blenheim, Christchurch and even as far away as Sydney. Pastor Brian & Belinda Ferguson and family were over for the weekend and we loved their fellowship (come again!).

The ministry was encouraging, with the timely reminder to keep focused on the Lord's soon return and not be distracted with this life. One young man received the Holy Spirit on the Sunday night, which of course was the highlight of the weekend.

Here's a photo from camp - there’s only 1 because we were too busy enjoying the fellowship! This is Nathan (Dunedin, single) and helpers singing a great song about the Lord's soon return. Heads up! He's coming!

And here's some of the boring scenery on the trip down to Queenstown!

Sawtell Easter
Thu, 03 Apr 2008 from Coffs Harbour

Those that ventured to the beautiful north coast were treated to an exceptional array of Holy Ghost ministry centred around the theme “The Sword of the Lord” and fellowship from Brisbane, Dubbo, Gold Coast, Mudgee, Melbourne, Taree, Newcastle, Canberra, Gosford and Hobart (Cali) assemblies.

People gave accounts of the healing power of God, awesome events happening in their lives and their personal experience with the creator. This is not so common with people these days. People from various walks of life and beliefs were able to hear how God did these things and were encouraged to follow God’s plan through the waters of baptism and receive the Holy Spirit.

A presentation of the Revival that is happening around the world gave us an insight into the cross cultural nature of God’s message.

The beach, cinema, pool, golf club, coffee shops, restaurants, jetty and sports ground provided a relaxing time for all ages. Evening entertainment was great including a few lads from elsewhere streaking (partially covered) through the back of the hall.

Apart from the comperes each night one of the highlights of the camp was the presentation by Pastor Craig ‘The World of Languages’. It was interactive and fun as we found language identifies, associates and communicates who we are between ourselves and with our heavenly Father.

Hope to see you all there next year and thanks for the proofing, Veronica.

Mon, 24 Mar 2008 from Melbourne

One of many Easter Camps around the world was held at Freshwater Creek (near Geelong, Victoria) with around 250 saints attending.
