Every Spirit-filled believer has a story to tell about how God has changed their life. When Jesus was on the earth, He performed many miracles, healing the blind, lame and destitute and changing people's lives forever. We are told in the Bible that Jesus is "the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8), so we can expect these miracles today. In 1
Thessalonians 5: 18 we are instructed to give thanks to God
"for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning
you." Psalm
106: 8 encourages us to "... praise the LORD for his
goodness, and for his wonderful works..." In this section you can read personal accounts of individuals who have experienced God's power and blessing first hand. Discover how they know that God is real - and note that you can have this experience too. When reading these stories... Occasionaly people use terms that may be unfamiliar (or even "jargon"). Some help: "The Lord" - the Lord
Jesus Christ who by His sacrifice on the cross paid the penalty
for sin and showed His great love towards sinful men and women.
"Spirit-filled" - being
filled with the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that raised Jesus
from the dead, and whom Jesus said would "testify of me". "day of Pentecost" - the day on which the Christian Church began when 120 people were filled with the Holy Spirit. See Acts 2 in the Bible. "baptism, baptised"
- being fully immersed in water. "speaking in tongues"
- the evidence accepted in Bible days as proof-positive that someone
had received the Holy Spirit. "Lord's Return" - Jesus'
promise that He would return to the earth.
